There are three main types of motorcycle:

- off-road (used for motocrosses and are not street legal)

Motorcycle riders have their own slang and jargon. For example,
- Brain Bucket – A motorcycle helmet
- Catwalk – one of the terms for a wheelie
- Flogging it – Riding hard with wide open throttle
- Heat – Police officers
- Zook – Short for Suzuki
