In SC2 Drones, Probes, and SCV’s eat lings alive. They’ll destroy them fast, so fast in reality that you can not even kill off one before you lose your initial 6 lings. That is why a lot of people don’t really learn how to rush. They’ll throw the lings within the mineral line settle for their base and deside it is a not worth a effort and energy after they return to 6 dead zerglings. I’ll detail what I do during my Zergling rush with this little article here. I’ll try to follow it with a few youtube videos later on.
You don’t desire to just run inside your opponent’s peon line and commence attacking, there exists some finesse to rushing in SC2. You run in like you are going to kill their peons, even targeting one, make your attacker pull five or six peons from the mineral line, then retreat temporarily. Stopping those peons from mining is approximately 50 minerals lost on your opponent in front of them. In case your opponent keeps following your lings which is more income, and you may probably pick off a few with no loss for your lings.
In Starcraft 2 Strategy Guide, If you undertake that 5 to six times, you have made your cost of your six lings and some. Please are aware that a rush isn’t designed to win the action (although it’s a nice bonus naturally if that does happen), but to slow your attacker, and acquire him off his game.
For each Star2Pros race you need to make a move different:
Terran
If you’ve found yourself in:
Play chicken with all the scv’s (as described above) until a marrine equates. Make an effort to time a pull back from his peons for the reason that marine pops. Once the marine pops kill him, repeat all over again with scvs.
If he walls off:
Attack two supply depots with three lings each. Normally you’ll acquire one because it’ll take 3 scv’s on each depot simply to keep it up. When you knock one down kill several SCVs. With this time you are almost dead and the man includes a marine. 1 Supply depot 1 SCV repair time on two depots and you have made your money back in their losses and hopefully slowed down his unit production. From then on send uncooperative lings to view towers in order to heal up (needs at least two left following this).
Note: it is a rush in order to usually make it happen prior to the marine pops.
Protoss
You have to get here early because of this to operate right and also have somewhat luck on your side. If you achieve the lings over soon enough you’ll beat the 1st zealot out. When you’re getting there target the pylon powering the gateway. The zealot will probably come out if you are focusing down the pylon. Micro your lings until the pylon is down (move the ling the zealot hits towards the medial side with the pylon).
After Pylon is down do the peon dance described above. Two runs far from the minerals will probably be 50 minerals (about) and whatever else you do as part of his is made of win!
Zerg
Harder to complete simply because they usually might have more lings out faster but nevertheless possible. With this match-up I’ll set my rally reason for their base and always build lings at home. Generally I get there with lings being made, and a queen out (sometimes both should they be trying to do exactly the same in my opinion).
